Business Scenario
In SharePoint Services, when you create announcement, everyone in
the organization sees it. Announcement targeting is available in
licensed version of SharePoint Server 2007.
You need to be able to select group of people or departments, to
whom the advertisement should be targeted at. The announcement is then
visible only to those selected group of people.
Technical Details
While you create the announcement, you specify the people that will be able to view the announcement in the metadata.
A workflow is run in the background in order to give the correct permission rights to these people.
The solution extends the general announcement list to enable targeting support for license-free version of SharePoint Services.
